cert-manager
cert-manager automates TLS certificate management for applications in Kubernetes. It requests certificates, makes them available as Kubernetes Secrets, and renews them according to the configured issuer and policy.
What does cert-manager do?
Applications, Ingress controllers, and gateways can use the certificates managed by cert-manager. The service supports different certificate issuers, including ACME-based providers, Vault, Venafi, and internal certificate authorities, depending on your setup.
Why Managed by SysEleven?
SysEleven operates and updates the cert-manager components and monitors controller health and certificate issuance errors. This provides a maintained foundation for automated certificate handling in the cluster.
Your responsibilities
You define certificate requirements and configure Certificate, Issuer, or ClusterIssuer resources. You also provide and manage external issuers, credentials, trust settings, and certificate policies. If required for your setup, you are responsible for backup and restore of certificate Secrets and customer-managed cert-manager resources.
