2026-05-01 Feature Release "CloudNativePG Replica Cluster"

Release Notes

We have extended our Managed Service CloudNativePG in the MetaKube Operator environment with technical support for Replica Clusters. This enables PostgreSQL clusters to be continuously replicated from a defined source cluster.

Replica Clusters create new options for disaster recovery, cross-region architectures, and read-only workloads such as reporting and analytics. The concrete usage depends on the target architecture, technical prerequisites, and the agreed service scope.

New Capabilities

Replica Cluster Support

  • Continuous replication of a PostgreSQL cluster from a defined source cluster
  • Support for disaster recovery scenarios and cross-region architectures
  • Usage as a read-only cluster for reporting and analytics workloads

Replication & Recovery

  • Implementation via streaming replication depending on the target architecture
  • WAL-based recovery via Object Storage
  • Combination of streaming replication and WAL-based recovery

Managed Service Scope

  • Provided as part of the Managed Service CloudNativePG on MetaKube Operator
  • Scenario-based usage depending on architecture, prerequisites, and service scope
  • Suitable for customers with requirements around resilience, distribution, and reporting

Notes

  • Replica Clusters are not a standard feature of every CloudNativePG deployment
  • Usage requires a prior technical assessment of the target architecture
  • Active write operations remain on the source cluster
  • Failover, recovery, and operational processes depend on the agreed architecture and service concept

2025-10-31 Feature Release Managed Service for "Keycloak"

  • We've officially released Managed Keycloak as a fully integrated service in our MetaKube Operator ecosystem. The service provides centralized identity and access management (IAM) for containerized applications - managed by us.
