MetaKube Core

Certification and Compliance

• MetaKube Core is fully certified by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).
• SysEleven is a Kubernetes Certified Service Provider (KCSP).
• Conformance test results are publicly available for all supported versions.

Architectural Overview

MetaKube Core simplifies the process of setting up and managing Kubernetes clusters, allowing you to focus on your applications rather than infrastructure management. In the diagram below, you can see the overall architecture of MetaKube Core, for a single Kubernetes cluster.

Some important points to note:

• Depicted above is a single cluster. You can have multiple Kubernetes clusters inside an IAM project.
• The cluster's control plane is fully managed by SysEleven, and 3x replicated. The control plane is technically part of the Cluster (and thus included in the IAM project). The actual resources for the control plane are deployed and managed outside of your IAM project, i.e. will not be visible in the IAM project.
• The managed control plane then manages Kubernetes nodes inside your IAM project, via a mechanism called MachineDeployments.
  • For simplicity, the machine deployment indirection is not depicted in the diagram above. You can think of a machine deployment as a Kubernetes abstraction for a set of nodes.
  • For each node that a MachineDeployment manages, a corresponding VM is created in the project.
  • MetaKube Core will further use volumes, load balancers, and other resources provided by OpenStack, that you will see appear in the project as well.
